Living in Hawaii. Please answer?

cfa_pilot asked:

What is it like living in Hawaii? Please give pros and cons. Please be specific as possible. Would I have a good living if I was an airline pilot? Bringing in around $80,000 $100,000 a year? At this salary would I be able to afford a decent home and enjoy life (entertainment, dining out, etc.). What’s the average income of people living in Hawaii?
Thank you very much! Mahalo a nui loa!
What is the best island to live on? I wouldn’t live on Oahu. Too much of a big city. Which has less tourism?

Living in Hawaii is da bomb! There is not much down side about living here. We are named the “ICE” state because we have a bad drug problem here, we have semi-bad traffic, and terrible pedestrian accidents here. Thats the bad side

Thats a lot of cash for a pilot and with that kind of money you can make a living here in Hawaii thats sure. The average in come would be $50,000 a year. You can buy a lot of stuff with the salary you are getting just buy the cheap things in life you know.

I have lived in Hawaii my whole life, like any other city, state or country we do have drugs, violence, murders, accidents, homeless, etc.. But it has good as well. We don’t have snow that falls on the ground (just on the mountains), we have a lot of sunshine, beautiful mountain, beaches, clean air, aloha (love, friendship, people that welcomes you), variety of mixed cultures, nationalities, beliefs, etc.. As for the average income for a family of 4 (dual income) ranges $50,000 – $75,000. With the amount you will be bringing in you will be able to live very comfortable. Just remember to do your research on the are you want to live in (Island/city/neighborhood) before you make any decisions. I hope this helps you.

Living is expensive in Hawaii, but with your income you will be just fine. Especially if you are single and with no kids. Most people don’t make what you make anyway.
