Is it better to get a condo or get a ‘bed & breakfast’ for 5 days in Hawaii vacation at Waikiki?

Hetav asked:

I’m trying to evaluate whether it would be cheaper to rent a condo for 5 days or pay per night in a B&B. If B&B, any options for one in Waikiki that’s close to International marketplace?

I don’t know where you are traveling from, however, the condo usually has a kitchen. Bring along some coffee or tea, some sugar if you use it, go to the supermarket, and get some basics, then you can eat when you want, what you want without having to wait for the time differnece you will be experiencing. Also in a condo you can freely enjoy your room, and not be disturbed with the extra service the B&B tries to give you especially when you are jet lagged. I would vote on a condo while I am in Hawaii~!
B&Bs are best in England, or on the east coast of the US,

Absolutely a condo, there won’t be any B&B’s nearby the International Marketplace but oodles of condos @ prices better than hotels. Drop me a line for further help.

Condos are available near International market Place at 5 minutes on foot. You may rent a studio or a one bedroom apartment at Pacific Monarch Resort Quest hotel for a very reasonable price, starting at 55$ per day per person for a party of 4 for a large apartment of 1 bedroom. You have the spa, the swimming pool on the roof and everything in the kitchen to cook your own meal, plus a food pantry is 2 minutes away on Prince Kuhio Street.

there aren’t any b&b’s in the Waikiki area near International Marketplace. There are a ton of condo type places though. The good thing about a condo is that you have our own kitchen so you can save money on food since you can cook for yourself.

    good luck!

I know of a condo that is right on the beach but not in Waikiki. Its still on the island of Oahu about 55 minutes from Waikiki but you could rent a car and see the sights on your own time. You could go to the hustle and bustle of the international marketplace and spend time at a nice secluded and private beach to take away the stress of shopping!

Get a condo! I don’t know of any B&B’s near Waikiki. Plenty of condos in Waikiki.

Condo all the way. You’ll have more privacy than you would at a B&B where sometimes the bathroom has to be shared and meals are taken together. Ugh. Not my idea of a fun vacation, but maybe that’s just me. The Hawaiian King condos are right in Waikiki and a very short walk to the International Marketplace, beach, nightlife, shopping, dining, etc. Each unit is independently owned so the decor varies, but I’ve stayed in 2 different units and really liked the place. Not expensive either!
