if you know anything about hawaii please help?

Ty L asked:

ok so last year we went to a summer camp on the north shore of oahu on top of one of the hills in pupukea. While we were there there was a hawaiiana garden filled with every plant and tree known to hawaii and there was a native hawaiian lady there. we called her aunty bobby. She told us the garden was sacred and her ancestors hung out in the garden. For some reason I felt a deep deep spiritual connection and my whole heart was filled with warmth and i kept telling myself in my head, im home now, im home. Do you believe this is a calling? Ever since then ive been thinking about hawaii everyday non stop for a whole year. I love the culture, the language everything. Im white and I know hawaiians dont like whites but i respect all hawaiians and feel that everything in the islands is sacred. I am a very spiritual person and im part native american. I plan to move to kauai after college, should I get along with the locals ok? I would never act disrespectful towards them and nor do i agree with how hawaii became a state, it deserves to be independent. Do you think its ment to be, even though i am a howle?

Hawaiians don’t **** whites. When I was there the locals were extremely nice. But it is expensive. Most Hawaiians hold more than 1 job. And it is a Beautiful place.

Interesting. I lived in Hawaii in 85-87 and there’s a place I remember on the North Shore (Oahu) that I felt strangely connected to as well. I have no other info about it though. Just a place that I thought I’d been before, but know I had not. Like deja vu.

Well, I think if you want to return and live there you need to put your life in order to do that. It will take money and good planning.

I’m assuming your last word was supposed to be haole. But anyways, If you felt a spiritual connection than don’t ignore it. Kaua’i has a lot of white people. So, if you want to actually be around locals than be careful where you move to as a lot of Kaua’i is full of rich mainlanders. Sorry, if that sounds mean. I just hope you find everything you hope for :)
