Strengthen The Body With Chlorella

Chlorella Single Cell Algae is a genus of single-celled green algae, belonging to the phylum Chlorophyta family. It is spherical in shape, about 2 to 10 um in diameter, and is without flagella. Chlorella contains the green photosynthetic pigments chlorophyll-a and -b in its chloroplast. Through photosynthesis it multiplies rapidly requiring only carbon dioxide, water, sunlight, and a small amount of minerals to reproduce.

The name Chlorella is taken from the Greek word chloros meaning green and the Latin diminutive suffix ella meaning “small”. German biochemist and cell physiologist Otto Heinrich Warburg, awarded with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his research on cell respiration in 1931, also studied photosynthesis in Chlorella.

In 1961 Melvin Calvin of the University of California received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his research on the pathways of carbon dioxide assimilation in plants using Chlorella. In recent years, researchers have made less use of Chlorella as an experimental organism because it lacks a sexual cycle and, therefore, the research advantages of genetics are unavailable.

Chlorella is a powerful detoxification aid for heavy metals and other pesticides. Numerous research projects in the U.S. and Europe indicate that chlorella can also aid the body in breaking down persistent hydrocarbon and metallic toxins such as mercury, cadmium and lead, DDT and PCB while strengthening the immune system response. In Japan, interest in chlorella has focused largely on its detoxifying properties like its ability to remove or neutralize poisonous substances from the body.

It is known as nature’s perfect super food because it contains the widest range of essential nutrients available in any single food source, including potassium, all of the B vitamins, magnesium, zinc and iron, 18 vital amino acids, beta carotene and lutein. In fact, to get the same amount of nutrients at the grocery store, you would have to spend more than $200 and carry home more than 20 pounds of food.

This perfect food is available in capsule, tablet, and bulk powder forms at your natural health food store. When purchasing Chlorella algae, look for name brands like Solaray, Source Naturals, and natures plus to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase.
