i'd say pearl city is better than aiea. if you're looking to rent an apartment, century park plaza is a good choice. it's all gated so theft is minimal. and there's two small parks, courts, and a pool/jacuzzi for residents. and it's across the street from a shopping center and sams club.

No whatever you do, do not live in Aiea!! My boyfriend lives there and his car has been burglarized more than twice! If you can, try to live on base, AMR (Aliamanu Military Reservation). But if you can't live on base, then just try to avoid Aiea! Pearl City is a little bit better.

You have no choice but to pass the written test (?) in Ohio and obtain your permit. For people moving to Hawaii they won't be issued a Hawaii state driver's license if they don't have either a permit or valid license from another state. It makes sense if you think about it.

Here, read. (Go down to "h. Ineligability" to read what I typed out above):

Sure. Just don't do anything stupid. Respect the aina (land). people say that if you dispresprect the aina some gods might retaliate. Thats why some hawaiians are always respecting the land and taking care of it. If you think that you belong in Hawaii go for it.

<a href="http://kansieo.com/members">Caffeinated Content for WordPress</a>

my husband is kamaina so I know a bit about the islands. What you experienced is called locally "the call of the islands." People experience that a LOT. Many act on it, some never returning home from a trip out there. I have met people who went out in the 50s and just left their old lives behind. It isn't that locals don't like haoles, it's that haoles try to go native & it's insulting. Imagine as Native American if every teenybopper suddenly started trying to assume your look, your talk, etc., bc they thought it was "cool" to be NA. so plan your move carefully, save a lot of money, and always, always, be respectful of the old ways. There is a lot of spirituality and lore in those islands and one does well to hold a reverance for it. aloha oe

<a href="http://kansieo.com">Create a video blog...instantly.</a>

You know that if have real lava rocks from Hawaii it's very likely you'll be strung with bad luck. It's a old Hawaiian myth. I live in Hawaii and the locals here know not to take anything from the "heiau" which are sacred grounds and also other things like lava rocks. As for your question, IDK it's probably not. Do you think they would take the time to go to the volcano and get the rocks?
